Mini Quilt
To be read in your best infomercial voice:
Tired of boring lists of recent posts that just list recent posts?
Tired of the droning and sleeping?
The reading and leaving?
Well, taking advantage of a state-of-the-art alogrithm by the smarty pantses at Ikiru Design, the Mini Quilt is the solution you’ve been praying for.
It save readers from reading, and just lets them click on pretty colored boxes. It’s the perfect solution for your lobotomized, lazy, or otherwise uninteresting readership.
In all seriousness, the Mini Quilt’s pretty cool. I took the date-to-color algorithm that powers many features of my Kaleidoscope theme and made a stand-alone plugin that lets you have a Mini Quilt on any WordPress blog, using any WordPress theme (assuming it’s developer was competent enough to widgetize it).
It improves on the Mini Quilt in the current version of Kaleidoscope by letting you easily change the size of the quilt’s blocks, and the number you want to appear across and down.
It’s also been tested widely with many different versions of WordPress and many different themes. And though that testing doesn’t let me claim that it’ll work perfectly for everyone out of the box, it lets me tell you that I *think * it should.
